SCIA Engineer is only backward-compatible.
Files from version 21 can be opened in version 22, but files from 22 cannot be opened in 21

• The new User Interface is only available in the 64-bit version.
• Please note that due to recent changes 64-bit is no longer fully compatible with 32-bit version of SCIA Engineer. An export option from 64-bit to 32-bit exists using XML but the export has its limitations. Click here for more information.

How to install the SCIA Engineer - Revit Structure link?

• Install Revit Structure on a certain pc.
• Install also SCIA Engineer on this pc.
• Install the latest Revit plug-in from the table below on the same pc.

How to use the SCIA Engineer - Revit Structure link?

• SCIA Engineer: use File - Import (or export) - Revit .
• Revit Structure: use the CADS tab.

How to update the SCIA Engineer - Revit Structure link?

• Install the latest plug-in from the list below.

Which licenses are necessary?

• The pc with Revit Structure (and SCIA Engineer and Revit link plug-in) will not need any SCIA license.
• The pc with SCIA Engineer where you want Import/Export the model from Revit Structure: you will need module sen.11.

DESCRIPTION

The SCIA Engineer open platform offers CAE with a unique consistent structural and analysis model for concrete, steel, composite, aluminium and timber structures. The analytical model in SCIA Engineer can be exchanged with certain CAD programs through a very specific plug-in.

This page describes the exchange with Tekla Structures. The exchange can go from Tekla Structures to SCIA Engineer and from SCIA Engineer to Tekla Structures.

How to install the SCIA Engineer - Tekla Structures link?

• Install Tekla Structures on a certain pc.
• Install a setup from SCIA Engineer on the same pc (this can be an unlicensed setup).
  • Use 'custom installation'
  • Make sure 'Tekla plug-in' is ticked on.
• Install the required license esa.22 or sen.12 on the same or a different pc with SCIA Engineer to exchange the intermediary .s2t file.

SETUP

Description

The SCIA add-on provides you with the option for direct analysis model export from Archicad to SCIA Engineer. The add-on runs SCIA Engineer from within the Archicad environment using the “Open in SCIA Engineer” command. SCIA Engineer starts automatically, opens a new project with your analysis model inside and you can proceed to structural analysis and design. In “SCIA Engineer Export Settings” you can select which SAF translator you want to use for export.

How to use the add-on?

• Download the installer
• Install the add-on
• In Archicad, open File > Interoperability > SCIA Engineer connection and export your analysis model

SCIA Engineer offers a Structural Glass Add-on, which has several checks included. You need specific modules for the checks:

• Single layer glass check - module add.gd.01
• Glass Design Laminated Multi-layer - module add.gd.02
• Glass Design Insulated Units - module add.gd.03
